Amir Hamza, a founding member of the proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has reportedly sustained serious injuries under unclear circumstances at his residence. According to reliable sources, the 66-year-old is currently undergoing treatment at a military hospital in Lahore, with the premises heavily guarded by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
Hamza, who also serves as the editor of LeT’s ideological publications, was reportedly injured a few days ago. While no official confirmation has been issued by Pakistani authorities, security insiders suggest that the nature of the incident remains mysterious. Meanwhile, pro-Lashkar Telegram groups have addressed their followers, asking them to stay united during what they termed a “testing time,” and claimed the incident was the result of an accident.
This development comes just days after another major LeT figure, Abu Saifullah—known for his recruitment operations—was killed by unidentified assailants in Pakistan. The back-to-back incidents involving senior members of the organisation have raised eyebrows, especially given the increased internal tensions and ongoing global pressure on Pakistan to act against terror outfits operating from its soil.
As of now, Amir Hamza’s condition remains critical, and the situation continues to unfold under a veil of secrecy.
