The Gujarat ATS has arrested 18-year-old Jasim Shahnawaz Ansari from Nadiad for allegedly launching over 50 cyberattacks on Indian government websites between April and May 2025. The attacks intensified after India’s military response, ‘Operation Sindoor,’ following the Pahalgam terror incident.
Ansari, a self-taught hacker who failed his Class 12 exams, used Python, GitHub tools, and mobile apps like Termux to execute DDoS attacks. He coordinated with juveniles through a Telegram group named “AnonSec,” where they celebrated takedowns and posted anti-India messages.
On May 7, the group targeted 20 websites in a single day. Authorities are investigating possible foreign links and have filed charges under cyber terrorism laws (Sections 43 & 66F of the IT Act).
