India is set to conduct high-level mock drills tomorrow across four states and a union territory—Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Jammu and Kashmir—specifically focusing on regions along the international border with Pakistan.
These preparedness exercises come in the wake of heightened tensions in the region, following Operation Sindoor, a precision military operation carried out by India during the night of May 6–7. The mission reportedly targeted terrorist infrastructure and support systems in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK).
In retaliation, Pakistan launched attacks on Indian military installations and civilian areas, prompting India to escalate its response. The Indian Air Force executed calculated strikes on at least eight Pakistani air bases, as well as other strategic assets like radar installations and air defence units.
Following the intense exchange, diplomatic backchannels were reportedly activated, leading to Pakistan’s request for a ceasefire on May 10, which India agreed to.
Tomorrow’s mock drills are seen as part of India’s continued commitment to national security, ensuring operational readiness and coordination among defence forces in sensitive border areas.
