In his first address to the nation after the launch of Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a firm and clear message about India’s stand on terrorism and its policy towards Pakistan.
“Terror and talks can’t go hand in hand, terror and trade can’t go hand in hand, water and blood can’t flow together,” said PM Modi, stressing that peace efforts cannot continue while terrorism is still being supported across the border.
Speaking strongly against Pakistan, Modi said, “Pakistan pleaded with us to stop attacks but we considered it only after they promised to stop their misadventure.” He explained that India’s military operations were paused, not ended, and the future course will depend on how Pakistan behaves.
The Prime Minister also warned against any nuclear threats coming from Pakistan. “India will not tolerate any form of nuclear blackmail,” he said, adding that “we will take decisive action against terrorist bases operating under the guise of such threats.”
Highlighting the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, Modi called it “the most barbaric face of terrorism.” He went on to say, “There will be no distinction between government-sponsored terrorism and terrorist organizations.”
Calling out Pakistan’s direct involvement in terror activities, he said, “The world witnessed the grim reality of Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, when top officials of the Pakistani military openly stood in solidarity with terrorists. This stands as the strongest evidence of state-sponsored terrorism.”
Declaring a new strategic approach, PM Modi said, “Operation Sindoor is now India’s new policy against terrorism, a new line has been drawn.” He made it clear that any future conversation with Pakistan will only be about two things — “talks with Pakistan can only happen on terror and return of PoK and nothing else.”
This speech marks a turning point in India’s national security policy — sending a loud and clear message that India will respond to terrorism not just with words, but with strong actions.
